I don't specifically have a story of 'my' turn, but the lady who preached the sermon this last week at our church has something she calls 'the ministry of showing up,' which I think relates. To super-loosely paraphrase her: For those of us who are like, "who, me? me, heal people? me, be your hands and feet? wouldn't you prefer someone, um, more organized, with better credentials, someone all around...better?," she says: simply show up to help, and you have already gotten the hardest part out of the way

It's so funny how reluctant we can be to believe that God is asking us to DO something! I think your preacher was on to something important. You just take the first step and bungle along, and there's grace in that.
